High Performance Leadership-Essentials (HPL-E) is a 3-day version of HPS’ flagship leader development course, High Performance Leadership-I. HPL-E is a practical, hands-on course designed to equip leaders with the optimal combination of skills, tools and techniques for achieving high performance.
Leaders who are constantly being challenged to “do more with less” will learn effective ways to:

- Improve employee performance
- Make timely decisions
- Improve communication
- Manage change effectively
- Reduce waste and inefficiency
Presented in a modular format, High Performance Leadership-Essentials provides fundamental skills for front-line leaders, supervisors and managers. HPL-E is a key component of HPS’ High Performance Leadership System, a proven leader development process that focuses on developing key leadership skills for each Role Level in an integrated and sequential progression.
The Assessment of Basic Leader Effectiveness (ABLE®) is an important feature of HPL-E. After completing this multi-rater assessment, leaders receive personalized feedback on their effectiveness using nine basic leader skills. These are the foundational leader skills required at all four leader Role Levels.
The ABLE is part of a comprehensive Pre-Assessment process that each participant completes prior to attending HPL-E. This process is an in-depth analysis of multiple factors including the participant’s work performance, personality, communication style and motivation. Each course is custom fitted to the participants to ensure maximum utility and application on the job.
